10 Cleaning Uses Of Salt
When you look into your kitchen, you can find many ingredients that can be very useful for cleaning. For example, white vinegar, baking soda, lemon, salt and many other ingredients can be used for cleaning. One single item can have many cleaning uses. Salt for example has many cleaning uses too. Apart from adding taste to the food, you can clean your home using salt. It is also used to exfoliate the skin.
Salt can be used in a numerous ways for cleaning. For example, you can wash your clothes especially jeans in salt to get the laundry like effect. Similarly, iron, brass or copper items that we use to decorate the house can be cleaned with salt. So, if you think that bringing back the shine and glow of such metal showpieces is difficult, just try using salt.

Cleaning uses of salt:

Clean jeans
If your jeans are really dirty and you want to clean it, use salt. Salt not only cleans the jeans but also maintains the stretchability and colour of the denims. Just add a tsp of salt in a bucket half filled with water. Soak the jeans in it for 10-15 minutes. Clean with a laundry detergent.

Shine brass or copper
We decorate the house with brass or copper showpieces. They get rust and stains due to moisture and dirt. You can keep these showpieces shiny by cleaning with salt. Add few drops of vinegar in salt and then clean the brass or copper items.

Chimney
The kitchen chimney is most highly exposed to oil, moisture and vapour. Thus, it becomes dirty with stains very easily. Cleaning the chimney is very difficult. You can make it simpler by scrubbing with salt and vinegar or baking soda.

Carpet
Carpets can become dirty due to mud, food spill or get wine stains. So, to remove these stubborn stains from the carpet or rug mat, just sprinkle salt. Scrub with a sponge that is wet with water.

Clothes
To get a nice smell from washed clothes, just soak them in salt for 5-10 minutes. It also prevents the colour of clothes from coming out.

Iron cookware
Cooking in cast iron cookware can be troublesome at times. So, to remove oil stains, yellow stains and spills, just scrub it with a paste of hot water and salt.

Glass jars
Glass jugs and jars can get yellow stains very easily. Clean with vinegar and salt scrub to keep it clean and free from bacteria.

Clean refrigerator
Want to keep the refrigerator clean and free from odour? Just soak a piece of cloth in vinegar and salt solution. You can also add baking soda to remove stains. Clean the refrigerator and keep it free from odour.

Removes odour from utensils
The smell of garlic, eggs, meat, onion and oil can be a huge turn off. So, clean the steel, silver or clay utensils with salt and lemon juice.
