Vinegar For Cleaning Your House – Tips & Suggestions

Vinegar, an acidic extract obtained from the fermentation of ethanol, has various uses. Vinegar is widely used in cleaning. Whether it is the kitchen or the bathroom or even outdoors, vinegar plays its part as a cleaning agent. Vinegar not only disinfects, but also deodorises, thus keeping your house smell-free.

All forms of vinegar are useful when it comes to cleaning your house. This is because of the acidic nature of vinegar. Some of the common types of vinegar that are used in cleaning the house are apple cider and white distilled vinegar. Have look at some useful ways in which we can use vinegar in cleaning the house.

Cleaning the house with vinegar - Top 10 Tips

1.Let's start with the kitchen. Unclog your kitchen sink by pouring down a mixture of half a cup each of vinegar, baking soda and salt. This unclogs the kitchen sink from stubborn deposits.

2.Spray your kitchen counter-top or chopping board with some white-distilled vinegar. Immediately spray the area with hydrogen-peroxide. Wash or wipe immediately with water for a disinfected surface.

3.When you wish to eliminate cooking odour from the kitchen, add a spoon of vinegar to water and boil this liquid for some time. It removes all the odours from the kitchen.

4.Add a cup of white vinegar to your dishwasher and run a complete cycle to get rid of the soap water films. This is a useful cleaning tip using vinegar.

5.Dip some paper towels in undiluted vinegar and place them on the ring of the bathtub or wash-basin. Once they dry, spray some vinegar again and scrub with sponge for a stain and infect free bathtub.

6.Shower heads in the bathroom tend to get clogged after some time. Remove the shower head and soak it in a solution prepared using half cup vinegar and a quart of water.

7.Pour down undiluted vinegar in the toilet. After sometime, sprinkle some baking soda and scrub off the stains and flush for a cleaner toilet.

8.Ceramic tile floorings can be mopped with a solution of a cup of vinegar mixed with a bucket of water. This leaves the tiles sparkly and clean.

9.Mix a cup of vinegar to a small bucket of water. Dip newspapers in this solution and wipe the windows. Later wipe the windows with dry newspapers to leave them free from fog, stains and dust.

10.Keep your patios, driveways etc. cleaner by cleaning them with a solution of pure vinegar. Spray vinegar directly between the tiles to discourage the growth of unwanted weeds. This will also ensure that insects or ants will not build any nests in between the tiles.
