1. Microwave: This super useful kitchen appliance can be cleaned in an non abrasive way with baking soda. The insides of a microwave are steel metal and thus normal kitchen cleaning soaps don't cut much ice here. If you want to get rid of the strong food smells then saturate lemon juice with baking soda and scrub the insides of your microwave.
2. Kitchen Slab: You may feel that you can just wipe your kitchen slab, why use home remedies for cleaning it? But what about the stubborn dried stains of curry and sauce? Sprinkle baking soda on the stain and leave it ten minutes; then wipe away with warm water dipped cloth.
3. Burnt Food Crusts: If the food burns from the bottom of the pot and sticks to its insides, you need not have to discard the utensil. Soak the utensil in a solution of baking soda and boiling hot water overnight. The crust would have melted away by morning. You can then rinse it off with soap and water.

6. Carpets: Carpet stains are difficult to remove but not when you clean with baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda on the stain and let it stand for 10 minutes. Vacuum clean and suck away the musty smell from your carpet. It helps keep carpets fresh too other than cleaning them.
7. Silver: The best way to clean your silverware involves baking soda. Make thick paste out of baking soda and a few spoons of water. Use this paste to scrub the silver, wash with warm water and wipe it clean. The shine will be as good as new.
