How To Grow Lavender Outdoors
You can take lavender cuttings in spring or autumn before flowering. Lavender can propagate by it's cuttings easily. Take small pots and fill it with compost (vermiculite, horticultural grit, peat moss) Add a bit of water to make it damp. Make a small hole about 1 to 2 inch deep to plant the lavender cutting.

How To Take A Lavender Cutting
You can take a cutting from a matured healthy plant. Use a sharp knife to cut a small branch from the lower half of the plant (3 to 4 inches long). The cutting must be soft.

Planting Lavender Cutting
Make a hole in the soil inside the pot. Put the cutting inside the hole made in the soil. Close the hole with soil.

If you want to plant it inside ground, you have to dig the ground about eight inches deep and one feet wide. Mix compost, sand and peat moss to the soil to nourish it.
