Plants For The Tropical Sun
There are various plants that are perfect for a sunny environment and have the same characteristics like human beings. Just like some of us love the summers but can't stand the cold weather, plants for the sun are those that love the sunshine. These plants are mostly heat tolerant and suitable for the scorching hot weather in India.
If you have an outdoor garden in India then you need to grow some plants for the sun. In the Indian summer the mercury rises to 45 degrees and sometimes even more. So if the plants have to stay out in summer, they need be heat resistant plants. Most plants for the sun and heat are labelled as tropical plants. These plants are known for their capacity to tolerate direct sunlight and also have thirst for moisture.
So basically plants for the sun just love hot and humid weather that is typical of the tropical regions. You will be surprised to know that large number of flowering plants are also heat resistant. Not only do these tropical plants love direct sunlight, the also bloom at the peak of summer.

Agave
Agave is basically a type of cacti. Although it is not a flowering cacti, the plant itself looks like a bloom. The agave plant is shaped perfectly like a blooming lotus. You can leave it out in sun without water for days.

Bamboo
Bamboo plants can be easily called the most adaptable plants of all. They can grow in low light or full sunshine. If your bamboo plants get direct sunlight, they get really tall so you need to keep pruning them regularly.

Canna
Canna is a perfect example of tropical flowering plant. This plant has bright coloured flowers in red, yellow, orange etc.

Salvia
Salvia is a flowering plant that has vibrant indigo blue flowers. This plant is heat resistant and can even survive a drought. These flowers pollinate very quickly because of their bright colour.

Pentas
The pentas are flowers that bloom at the peak of summer. Throughout the tortuously hot summers, you will see bunches of pentas bloom in your garden.

Banana
Banana is not necessarily a plant that is cultivated in your backyard. A well-groomed banana plant is good enough to be a part of your porch garden.

Balloon Flower
Balloon flowers are very common plants in Indian gardens. They grow on vine life plants and have beautiful violet flowers. These plants are perennials so they bloom throughout the year.

Passion Flower

Sun Flower
The name itself tells us that this flower loves sunlight. The sun flower is like the sun's lover, it always faces in the direction of sunshine.

Yarrow
Yarrow is a plant that has cluster-like flowers. This plant is also a perennial that blooms throughout the year but yarrow plants love the tropical summer.
