Best Designs For A Small Kitchen
Without a shadow of doubt, kitchen is the main focal point in our homes. While house hunting, people make sure that the house has a kitchen large enough to accommodate the "missus", is more roomier for cooking activities and also for putting in those essential cooking appliances, that too, without making a mess.
Hence, having a big kitchen in their house is everyone's dream. However, our bank account seldom allows us to get what we wish for. So, in case you have moved into a new place and have compromised with your kitchen space, we are providing you with 5 design tips for a small kitchen to make the most of that little space available to you in the name of a kitchen.

Use Bright Colours: Painting the walls of the kitchen with bright colours can give you an illusion of a larger space. To spice things up a bit and to give your kitchen a modern touch, you can also use metallic, wooden or bare-brick textures.

Use The Vertical Space: Install shelves, racks and hooks on the walls for utensils. This way, you'll get a lot of floor room for moving around and not banging into the clutter of aluminium vessels every now and then.
An Airy Kitchen Is Where Goddess Annapurna Resides: Crank open that window and let that natural light beam up the little space. A cramped and poorly ventilated kitchen has done nobody any good. So, in case the kitchen has a window, do not hide it behind the curtains. If your kitchen does not have a window, then strategically install light sources to make the cooking space look more roomier and airy. The concept of a glazed ceiling is widely used nowadays for optimum lighting solutions.

Do Not Clutter Your Kitchen With Appliances: You don't need to keep all your appliances in the kitchen. Your refrigerator can take a lot of space and, in fact, it is advisable to put the refrigerator in a place that receives a good cross ventilation. Dough kneader, coffee maker, blender, etc, can be kept in cabinets and can be taken out when required.

Utilise Those Empty Spaces Smartly: That area beneath the sink, yes that's where you can put your trash can. Remember that empty cabinet space where you'd keep your old mugs and glasses? You can now keep the coffee maker there. Hang that knife set, the one that your friends got you for your house-warming party, on the wall hook instead of putting it on the countertop. The trick is to intelligently use each and every empty space in the kitchen to store vessels and other small handy appliances.
