October and November is the month of festivals for all Indians. It starts with Ganesh Chaturthi and ends with 'Bhai-Dooj'. In between, Indians celebrate two major festivals, and they are Navratri and Diwali.

After the 9-day huge celebration, when you feel sad and life seems boring again, Diwali appears with a lot of lights, crackers, sound, sweets and love of your family and friends. This is the time of the year when you forget year-long differences and hug people you may not meet again in the coming time.

People visit their friends' and relatives' houses and enjoy the festival to the fullest. Every house is decorated with lights, lamps and other decorative materials; people are dressed in new and gorgeous apparels and look their best during this festival.

6. Rangolis: Talking about Diwali decoration and ignoring rangolis will be a huge mistake. Along with rangoli colours, use petals, leaves and diyas to decorate it. Make a big one at your entrance or living room, so that your house looks welcoming.

7. Diwali Toran: On Diwali, you must be going to welcome Maa Lakshmi and Ganesh Ji at your house, isn't it? Decorate the main entrance and your puja room with colourful Diwali torans, as it will give your house a vibrant look.

8. Potpourri: Place small bowls of potpourri around your house and the aroma will certainly uplift your mood to enjoy the festival with great delight. You can buy it from a market or follow some homemade recipes to make potpourris. The choice is yours!
