Rangoli Designs For Diwali Decorations
A festival is incomplete without a rangoli. In most of the house entrance, you will find beautiful rangolis been drawn by the women and young girls of the house. The rangoli designs vary and can be turned creative to make the entrance of the house look all the more attractive.
As Diwali is almost here, you need to pick up some rangoli designs for decorating the entrance of the house. Rangoli holds a spiritual significance in the Hindu religion. The traditional design of Diwali rangoli is footprints made of rice flour, which, heralds the arrival of Goddess Lakshmi into the house. This design is made in front of all the doors of the house. An impression of Goddess Lakshmi is made on the entrance of the house with a Lotus flower. Keeping this as the basic theme of rangoli, beautiful designs are made.
Rangoli is often drawn with white rice powder, colourful powder, abir and flowers. Often diyas are placed to decorate the rangoli and bring in the brightness of Diwali. Colours too have a significance. For example, Red is the colour of celebration, blue and white is for peace, yellow is the colour of the halo around the Goddess's head, Pink is for sweet feelings, Green is for nature etc.
It is believed that the rangoli is drawn to bring in colours, positivity and good luck into the family. Moreover, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are invited by drawing on the floor of the house entrance. Often rangoli is also drawn on the entrance of the Puja room. As diyas are extensively used for Diwali celebrations, you can use them for decorating a rangoli. The pink, yellow and red roses on this colourful rangoli looks bright and would spread aroma all around.

Lotus is supposedly the flower Goddess Lakshmi loves. You can add that spiritual aspect and impress Goddess Lakshmi by using blooming lotus flowers and create a blossoming flower with flower petals.
