If you are a soft-natured person and appreciate simplicity, opt for light hues of colour. Soothing and light colours create an atmosphere to relax. While deciding on the color scheme, select the colours that make you feel serene and calm. Lighter shades of blue and lavender are the best to relax.

The advantage of painting the walls with light colours is that they make your room look bigger. Neutral colours like white, cream, beige, light shades of brown and grey give an illusion of space and simplicity. It also matches with all themes.

If you want to brighten up your bedroom and add a touch of youthfulness, you can go for shades of yellow, misty peach or pastel shades of pink and green.

First decide what kind of an overall effect you want when you step into your bedroom. Then depending on the atmosphere you need, pick your colour from the colour chart.

Kid's Room

If you want to have mono-colour scheme, paint the walls with brighter shades pink, blue, green or yellow. You can also try using one bright colour like red on one wall and balance it with a light colour on the other three walls. The wall with the bright colour can be decorated with your child's photographs or cartoons.

You can also opt for wall papers. There are a wide variety of wall papers available in the market. Choose the one that is the cutest for your kid.

Living Room

The living room should be very sophisticated and classy. It is that part of your house where people from outside come and sit. Therefore it should be well designed.

It is always better to have neutral colours for your living room. Your drawing room has many heavy furniture. Sofas and shelves take the attention. Therefore white, beige, grey and cream are the best colours for your living room.

If you do not have heavy furniture in your drawing room, then you can choose a bright colour to highlight the walls.
