Some uncomfortable adverse effects can be connected with a woman's menstrual cycle. The conditions experienced vary from woman to woman and from cycle to cycle. Some women feel very weak and fatigued during this time. All these are a result of the changing levels of hormones during this time. These are very normal signs during menstruation. Today in this article we shall discuss certain signs and symptoms that a woman might have during her menstruation which could signal certain diseases and conditions.

1. Sudden Stop In Periods:
What happens when you suddenly stop getting your periods? The most possible causes could be that you are either pregnant or have hit menopause. If these two are not why you have missed your periods, then you have to get yourself checked for polycystic ovarian syndrome, an abnormal thyroid gland, low body fat and sometimes extremes levels of stress.

2. Painful Periods:
Are your periods very painful? Pain during periods is normal but if your pain becomes unbearable and you are confined to your bed all the time because the pain paralyses you, you could be a victim of either endometriosis, fibroids, structural abnormalities in the uterus or scar tissues as a result of any surgery that you might have had.

3. Heavy Periods:
If you have very heavy periods, that you have to change your pads every hour, you could be suffering from hemophilia or fibroids. It could also be due to hormonal imbalance, the change in the levels like oestrogen and progesterone. In rare cases it could be due to uterine cancer.

4. Infrequent Periods:
Infrequent periods are also observed in some women. Do not ignore this as it could be a sign of hormonal imbalance, polyps and fibroids. If you suffer from these above-mentioned conditions, make sure to visit a gynaecologist at the earliest.
