While each one of us considers refrigerator as the heaven for food, there are some foods you should never, ever store in the refrigerator.
We all are guilty of storing food because, according to our knowledge, all the food stuff in the refrigerator remain safe and healthy.
However, according to the study reports, it is said that there are a few particular food stuffs that you must never store in the refrigerator, as the texture and taste can be ruined to a great extent.

1. Coffee
Coffee should never be stored in the bean form in the refrigerator. The disadvantage of coffee is that it picks up any aroma and fragrance from the surrounding area; and if it is stored in the fridge, it may absorb the smell of the products and veggies kept alongside the bottle. The whole batch of the coffee gets ruined and it never goes back to its original aroma and taste.

2. Tomatoes
How many of them store tomatoes in the fridge? We guess, each one of us is guilty of doing this. However, the biggest problem with storing tomatoes in the refrigerator is the extremely cold temperature that allows the tomato to lose its texture and also makes it mashy. Because the tomatoes are stored in the fridge, it often makes them mashy and extra soft.

3. Onions
You should never, ever store onions in the fridge, as they tend to become incredibly moldy if left in the fridge for too long. If you cut an onion and then store the onion in the fridge, the layers of the onion start drying up. However, you should always avoid storing onions in the fridge, as the rest of the other food stuff can start to smell like a typical onion.

4. Bananas
Bananas are known as one of the healthiest foods, but storing them in the fridge can make them over-ripe and mashy. Storing banana in the fridge may also make the fruit to lose its nutritional value.

5. Honey
A jar of honey can stay as long as 10,000 years if it is not stored in the fridge. You should never store honey in the fridge, as storing it under cold temperature may allow the honey to turn into a tough dough. Storing the honey in the fridge will increase the speed of sugar crystallization, which makes it hard. It becomes hard to scoop out the honey once it has been stored in the fridge.

6. Melon
Melon fruit should not be stored in the fridge and especially when the melon has been half-cut. As per research, to keep the nutrients intact, it is best to store this fruit at room temperature. You should avoid storing melon in the fridge, as storing it under cold temperature may allow the fruit to lose its nutrient value.

7. Garlic
Same goes for garlic as well. Garlic should never be stored in the fridge, as the process of drying starts after 12 hours. You should store garlic at room temperature; and this is the only way to keep it healthy, safe and in a good condition.
