If you are a health freak who loves eating cheese, but for the fear of putting on that extra weight and cholesterol level you keep yourself away from it. So, do you fall in this group?
If yes, then here is some good news. Consuming a small amount of cheese on a regular basis can actually be good for one's health.
A recent study published in the European Journal of Nutrition have stated that consumption of small amount of cheese regularly can actually lessen a person's chance of coronary heart disease by 14%, or even reduce the chances of having a stroke by 10%.
Well, this might have come as a surprise for most of you, but how exactly does cheese help in terms of your health?

According to the authors of the study, the high calcium levels (good) in cheese leads to blocking of some of the saturated fats (bad fats) in the dairy product, thus balancing out the nutritional value ratio.
Considering it to be healthy, one should not consume excess of cheese. However, one should understand that it is only when you consume in limited quantity can cheese do good to your health.
Meanwhile, there are a few other foods that are good for your heart. Take a look.

1. Dark Chocolates:
Consuming dark chocolates in a limited quantity on a regular basis can be good for your heart. Dark chocolate contains flavonoids called polyphenols, that helps in regulating the blood flow, prevents blood clotting and high blood pressure.
However, when we say dark chocolates are good it does not mean that you can consume loads of it. Consuming only one or two piece a day can prove helpful.

2. Nuts:
Nuts are rich in fibre content, vitamin E and omega-3 fats or what is known as good fats. Almonds and walnuts are two of the best known nuts that helps to lower bad cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart problem. Having a handful of these nuts on a regular basis helps.

3. Olive Oil:
Cutting down on use of oil is very important as this can prove harmful for your health. However, using olive oil is considered much safer as it contains good fat. Olive oil is a good source of monounsaturated fats, which helps in reducing the cholesterol level and blood sugar levels.

4. Green Tea:
Green tea is known for its antioxidant properties. Green tea contains an important antioxidant called catechins that helps in burning the fat and cholesterol that might affect the heart. Drinking about 2-3 cups of green tea on a regular basis helps in keeping your heart healthy.

5. Broccoli:
When it comes to your heart health, you cannot skip vegetables. Broccoli is one of the best known vegetables that are good for your heart.
Rich in fibre, essential vitamins and minerals, broccoli is high in carotenoids, which act as antioxidants that helps in removing harmful compounds from the body.

6. Legumes:
Legumes are rich in fibre and protein but it also lacks in unhealthy fats. Adding legumes in your diet on a regular basis helps in keeping your fat and cholesterol under control thus preventing any heart related diseases.
