Stomach bloating is basically a condition in which the stomach becomes swollen, both internally and externally. This happens when the intestines secrete excess digestive acids, and when the accumulation of gas in the tummy is also excessive, thus causing bloating.
Stomach bloating can give you that feeling of uneasiness, you feel full most of the time and consuming foods becomes a problem. Also, wearing your dresses becomes a problem.
Along with a feeling of fullness, you can also feel a murmuring sound. On a serious note, stomach bloating can also be caused by certain medical conditions like thyroid dysfunctions, hormonal imbalance, heartburn and irritable bowel syndrome.

1. Digestive Problems:
Stomach bloating is one of the first signs which signifies that you are suffering from digestive problems. Gastrointestinal disorder, stomach ulcer, coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, etc., are a few of the major digestive problems.
2. Fluid Retention (Oedema):
The abdomen and pelvic region of our body generally contains fluids. So when there is excess accumulation of fluid in the abdomen and pelvic area, it leads to stomach bloating. This is a condition which is commonly known as oedema. Meanwhile, also if a person is suffering from liver disease, then it can lead to fluid retention in the pelvic area and stomach bloating.
3. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease:
Pain in the pelvic area, along with fever and stomach bloating that lasts for long are a few of the major symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease. This disease can be caused by sexually transmitted diseases or when your reproductive organs get infected.
4. Crohn’s Disease:
Severe stomach bloating, nausea, vomiting and problem with bowel movement are a few of the major signs that your colon and the small intestine are affected.
5. Ovarian Cancer:
Persistent stomach bloating along with pelvic pain and feeling full faster are a few of the major warning signs of ovarian cancer. However, ovarian cancer can also be due to genetics or not giving birth. Women, especially above 50 years of age, are at a higher risk of developing ovarian cancer.
6. Uterine Cancer:
Stomach bloating that comes along with pelvic pain, pain while urinating and intercourse and vaginal discharge can be a sign of uterine cancer. Also, on the other hand, genetic cause, radiation therapy and use of oestrogen medications can lead to this type of cancer.
7. Stomach Cancer:
When you have a bloated stomach that is accompanied with nausea, vomiting, indigestion and weight loss are a few of the major symptoms of stomach cancer.
8. Pancreatic Cancer:
Severe stomach bloating, pain in the back and abdomen, loss of appetite, jaundice and weight loss are the major symptoms of pancreatic cancer. One needs to be very careful, as many of us might mistake the symptoms for some normal pain.
9. Colon Cancer:
Stomach bloating can be a major cause for colon cancer, as this can lead to blocking of the colon. If the colon cancer is in an advanced stage, then along with stomach bloating, the patient will have bleeding and constipation as well.
10. Liver Disease:
If you have a bloated stomach along with yellowing of the skin and eyes, then you need to be careful, as this could be a sign of liver disease and liver cancer. Our liver gets affected generally due to heavy drinking, drug overdose and hepatitis. One needs to take immediate care, if not then, it can progress into liver cancer.
11. Bowel Obstruction:
Having a clear bowel is very essential for a normal body functioning. When you have a bloated stomach along with constipation, nausea and vomiting, then it can be a sign of bowel obstruction that is caused by a tumour or scar tissue.
