These Exercises Can Help Alzheimer’s Patients Lead A Better Life!
Making Alzheimer’s patients practice these exercises can help reduce the symptoms.
Most of us would have read somewhere or been advised by others to follow a regular exercise regime, right?
However, more often than not, most of us tend to avoid exercising, because it is a fact that exercising can get tiring and monotonous!
Now, we must understand that experts are not wrong when they say that regular exercise can do wonders for our health!
Exercising on a daily basis can prevent and treat a number of ailments, including keeping us fit and toned.
In fact, it has been proven by science that regular exercise alone can treat certain lifestyle disorders like obesity, depression, etc., without any medications!

We know that there are some degenerative diseases which affect us as we grow older, such as, Alzhiemer's, dementia, arthritis, etc.
Now, we previously read that exercise can help treat and cure many diseases.
In the case of diseases like Alzheimer's, exercising on a regular basis can reduce the symptoms and make life a little easier!
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive disease that can impair and even destroy important cognitive functions like memory, seriously hampering a person's life.
Alzheimer's is a condition in which a person's brain cells and nerve connections begin to degenerate at a rapid rate, eventually dying out, resulting in memory loss and loss of other mental functions.
Some of the main symptoms of Alzheimer's disease include difficulty in thinking and understanding, confusion, delusion, disorientation, loss of memory, apathy, anger, hallucinations, depression, etc.
It can be extremely difficult for people with Alzheimer's to lead a normal life, as they begin to gradually forget about things and certain basic skills.
So with the World Alzheimer's Day around, we have listed a few exercises which patients with Alzheimer's must follow to lead a better life.

1. Walking
This is the simplest exercise a patient with Alzheimer's can follow, as it does not require much effort or help from others. Walking stimulates the brain chemicals and makes the degeneration process much slower.

2. Gentle Stretching
Gently stretching the muscles and joints of the body can also help relax the nerves of a patient with Alzheimer's and ease symptoms like agitation and depression.

3. Balance Exercise
People with Alzheimer's can often lose balance while walking, standing, etc., due to the brain cell degeneration. So, practicing balancing exercises, with the help of a professional can help them a lot!

4. Strength Training
Strength training usually requires gym equipment; however, in the case of Alzheimer's patients, strength training exercises like push-ups, pulls-ups, squats, etc., without equipments can be practiced right at home. These exercises can improve immunity and reduce muscular weakness.

5. Endurance Activities
Spot jogging, climbing the stairs, dancing, etc., are some of the endurance exercises which can be practiced by Alzhiemer's patients, in order to keep their brain cells healthier for a longer time.

6. Yoga
Certain yoga poses like the ‘bujangasana' (snake posture) and ‘pranayama' (breathing exercises) have also been known to help people with Alzheimer's cope better!
