The biggest of all the Hindu festivals, Navratri which is also widely known as Durga Puja in the Eastern part of India is just round the corner. Fasting on all nine days during Navratri is something which most people across north, west and central India do religiously.

During Navratri people worship the nine different incarnations of Goddess Durga for nine days. Considering it auspicious, majority of the people observe fast for all the nine days. Few people observe fast just on the first day and the last day of Navratri.
