Things Your Ear Wax Says About Your Health
By paying attention to the kind of ear wax that you have, you can learn a lot about what is going on inside your ears. This sticky material is high in anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and it is up to your body to clean, hydrate and protect the ear canal. If any foreign material tries to enter your ear, the ear wax traps it.
Just as your urine, nasal mucous, poop and saliva signal certain upcoming health issues, your ear wax in the same way signals the issues that are cropping up in your ears and may affect your health in the long run. Pay attention to your ear wax and you will benefit in the long run.

If you have a watery ear wax with a greenish tint, it could be a mixture of your perspiration and ear wax. However, if you have not been sweating, it could signal ear infection. The colour could vary from green to dark yellow.

If your ear wax emits a strong odour, it could signal an infection in the middle part of your ear also known as chronic otitis media. This can lead to sensations as if your ear is blocked or full, you will hear a ringing sound in your ears and you might also face problems with your sense of balance.

If you have pressure and pain in your ears with gunk oozing out with your ear wax, it could be as a result of an abnormal skin growth called cholesteatoma. This is a cyst-like structure that fills up the ear canal and is full of debris. If you have flaky ear wax, it signifies that your glands are drying out as you are getting older.

If you do not have any ear wax, it could signify a condition called keratitis obturans, in which the ear wax instead of coming out slowly on its own, builds up inside the ear and becomes hard. When this happens, you will experience feelings of pain and fullness.
