How To Get Rid Of Mouth Ulcers

A mouth ulcer can make life hell. You won't be able to relish your favourite foods without yelling in pain. The problem with sores in the mouth is that they take time to heal as the bacteria in your mouth worsen the healing process.

These ulcers appear either on lips or tongue or inside the mouth. Sometimes, they may take more than two weeks to heal. Till those ulcers heal, drinking, eating and even washing your mouth would be painful activities.

There are many reasons behind ulcers. Certain medical issues like oral cancer, herpes and canker sores could also cause mouth ulcers. Other simple reasons could be malnutrition, weak immune system, poor hygiene, certain foods and certain medicines.

If your problem doesn't get solved within 10 days, it is better to rush to the doctor to know whether they are a symptom of some other serious health issue. But before that, you can try some simple home remedies to get rid of them.


Remedy #1

Add a pinch of salt to a cup of warm water and gargle for a while. Though salt could pain your sores, it heals faster. Try this remedy before you eat your lunch and dinner.


Remedy #2

We all know about the anti-septic, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric. Simply add a drop of honey to a pinch of turmeric and apply the paste on the sores every day.


Remedy #3

Before your meals, drink a cup of cranberry juice. It eliminates the bacteria and heals your sores faster. Of course, the juice may irritate your sores for a while.


Remedy #4

Eat raw tomatoes with every meal for 3-4 days to find some relief from mouth ulcers.


Remedy #5

You can also apply aloe vera gel on the painful sores for a couple of days to see the difference.


Remedy #6

Get some fenugreek leaves and boil them in water. Filter the water and refrigerate it for a couple of hours and drink it with your meal.


Remedy #7

Rinse your mouth with water in which coriander leaves are boiled. Do this 3-4 times a day for a couple of days.


Remedy #8

Basil leaves contain many medicinal properties. Simply chew a few leaves everyday.


Remedy #9

Rinsing your mouth with coconut oil can help curb the bacterial action on the sores. Do this for 2 days in the morning.


Remedy #10

Try this trick. Take a cup of warm water and gargle it. Immediately, gargle some cold water. This tip may work.
