Not Just Brushing And Flossing, Even Eating These 8 Superfoods Boosts Your Dental Health
Besides the regular practices like brushing and flossing, eating these 8 superfoods also improves the health of your teeth. So, why wait?
Dental health is a key component of our overall good health, be it the adults or children. Brushing, flossing and other practices are important to prevent tooth decay, cavities and gum ailments.
But apart from these routine exercises, it is also important to know that there are certain superfoods that help you have healthy teeth, which in turn help you to have beautiful smile.
Foods that supply minerals and vitamins and neutralise acids and stimulate saliva are best known to boost our dental health.
Here, we list 8 such superfoods that will improve your dental health, take a look:

1. Water:
The best agent to ensure healthy teeth! Drinking water after every meal washes your mouth and cleans the food particles present inside. Regular intake of water also keeps the gums hydrated and prevents tooth erosion.

2. Milk:
Milk provides the essential calcium and phosphate along with vitamin D, which enables the body to make use of the calcium that gives healthy teeth and strong bones. Drink milk or soy milk regularly to have great teeth.

3. Cheese:
This is another great food to have healthy teeth. Like milk, this milk product also has calcium and phosphate that neutralise the acids in the mouth. Cheese can be eaten in several foods. It prevents cavity.

4. Orange:
This citrus fruit is also a great agent for good dental health. Juice of this fruit flushes out the harmful bacteria that are present in the mouth. But, it is important to wash your mouth after having orange juice, since it is acidic in nature.

5. Apple:
This ‘doctor' fruit increases the quantity of saliva and prevents cavity. Vitamins and minerals in apples improve the overall health of the teeth.

6. Nuts:
Nuts have various vitamins and minerals that are good for our teeth. Peanuts, almonds, walnuts, cashew nuts, etc., have a lot of necessary fibre, thiamine, vitamins, etc., that serve our teeth's health. But, be careful when chewing on a nut, as putting too much pressure on the teeth can cause damage to your teeth.

7. Tea:
Tea, both green and black tea contain polyphenols that neutralise the bacteria that form plaque. Through this, formation of the tooth-attacking acid is prevented. Green and black tea also have capacity to fight the plaque buildup.

8. Dark Chocolate:
Tannin in dark chocolate helps in preventing tooth erosion and decay by curing gum inflammation. Cocoa in chocolate also reduces the acid production, while dark chocolate promotes blood circulation in the gums.
