How to burn calories sitting at your desk
Are you working for long hours in front of a computer? Are you doing any job that requires you to spend hours sitting indoor? If yes, this article has something useful for you. You may not get enough time to spend for a routine exercise regimen. But, you can try various exercises at your desk itself.
Sitting for long time increases your risk for obesity. Also, it will increase your chances of experiencing back pain, poor posture, leg cramps and strained muscles.
Doing some exercises at your desk will help to get a healthier, less stressful workday. You can easily try stretching, muscle-strengthening, and short aerobic exercises at your desk. Some of these exercises can be done without any extra effort, while some others need your free time.
If you wonder how to burn calories sitting at desk, here are some interesting exercises that you can try easily.

The Magic Carpet Ride
This is mainly for your arms. Sit in your chair with your feet on the seat with crossed legs. Then place your hands on the armrests. Inhale deeply and raise yourself a few inches above the seat, using your belly muscles and hands. Hold this for 10 to 20 seconds. Repeat this five times. This will help you to burn calories at desk.
Tricep Desk Dips
This is for your upper-body strength. Sit with your butt on the edge of the desk and then place your palms on either side of you on the edge of the desk. Keep your feet together, bend at the elbows and slide forward. Hold and then push back up. Do this 20 times. If you wonder how to burn calories sitting at desk, try this.

Carpal Tunnel Reliever
Stand up with arms straight. Keep your palms on the desk with your fingers pointed toward you. Lower your body slowly until you feel the stretch. Hold in this position for 15 seconds. You can repeat this exercise whenever you are free. This will help you to burn calories at desk.

The Wooden Leg
This is mainly for lower-body strength. Sit in your chair and extend one leg out straight in front of you. Hold this for two seconds. Then, raise it up as high as you can. Hold it again for two seconds. Repeat the same steps with each leg 15 times.

Sitting Spinal Stretch
Sit straight on your chair and stretch your arms toward the ceiling. Put your left hand on the desk, grab the back of the chair with your right hand and twist to the right. Hold this for 10 seconds. Release and raise your arms again. Then repeat to the opposite side. This will help you to burn calories at desk.
Shoulder Spin
Sit in your chair and bring your left hand behind your back, between your shoulder blades, with palm out. Then raise your right hand up towards the ceiling. Now, bend it down and try to touch your left hand. Hold this for 10 seconds. Repeat on the other side.
Try these exercises and burn calories sitting at your desk.
