Health Risks Of Consuming Too Much Dairy Products
How many of us know the health effects of eating too much dairy products? Dairy products do contain calcium but only to some extent. Recent findings show that it is better to avoid dairy products. This is due to the realisation of the health risks of eating too much dairy products.
Calcium is an important mineral that helps to keep our bones strong. Our bones keep remodelling. It means that the body takes small amounts of calcium from the bones and replaces it with new calcium. Therefore, it is essential to have enough calcium so that the body does not decrease its bone density.
Although calcium is necessary for ensuring bone health, excess intake of calcium can be counterproductive and may not beneficial at all. Hence, it is important to fulfill your calcium requirements from other sources.

Bone Health
It is a common belief that there are many favourable effects of eating too much dairy products. It can repair bone fractures. But studies have proved it to be completely false as it actually aggravates the bone fractures by 50 percent. Lesser the dairy products, better the bones. There is no protective effect of dairy calcium on bones. Osteoporosis, which is due to bone deficiency, can be reduced by the intake of green leaves, vegetables and fruits rather than consuming dairy products.
Cardiovascular Diseases
Some of the dairy products such as milk, cream, ice cream, butter, cheese and yogurt are rich in fat. One of the health risks of eating too much dairy products is cardiovascular disease. This is purely due to high fat content in them, which is not easily digestible.
Obesity
Some people do not worry about the effects of eating too much dairy products and end up in obesity due to the high fat content.
Allergies
Many allergies are effects of eating too much dairy products. Sinus problems, ear infections, chronic constipation, dysentery, anemia in children are some of the allergies that happen due to excess consumption of dairy products.
Cancer
You are at a higher risk of getting inflicted with cancer when you consume excess dairy products. People, who consume more milk, have high levels of insulin-like growth factor, also called IGF. People with high IGF levels are seen to have almost four times the risk of breast or prostrate cancer as compare to those with low IGF levels.
Diabetes
Insulin-dependent diabetes, also called the Type 1 or childhood-onset diabetes, is another effect of eating too much dairy products. This is basically linked with too much of milk consumption during infancy.
