Many women tend to have their morning or evening workout sessions at the gym. It’s good as that way you are pretty much regular in your workout routine. But, without a trainer, you might not be working out the way you should be.

Many times, cardio based exercises is all that you would be doing! This is good, working out a bit too much with the cardio! But, then that is not the only exercise you are supposed to do.

Most women tend to avoid muscle toning exercises or probably do the cardio the wrong way. This is what women should avoid at gym, that is just concentrating on cardio.

MUSCLE BUILDING EXERCISES FOR THE BACK

Ideally, you should always know which exercise is going to benefit you at the end of the day. There are some exercises that women intend on spending more time on. A gym trainer would know what you should be doing, but then you don’t want him around you all the time. So here are some gym mistakes to avoid.

Too Much Cardio
This is one of your basic gym mistakes to avoid! You go to the gym, enter the cardio area, do the exercise and leave. You are not working out actually! Spending a lot of time on the treadmill or on the elliptical might get the body muscles loosened up, but it won’t really affect your body much. You will need high intensity exercises to match up with your cardio to make sure your body is losing the ideal amount of weight. Try to combine various exercises. Don’t spend all your gym time on cardio.

No to Weight Training
A lot of women have this issue. They feel that weight training might make their muscles look bulky and huge and they tend to avoid it. That is a mistake. You should not be intimidated by weight training. It tones your muscles perfectly and makes them look beautiful. It also improves the overall body strength. You may want to perform strength training using weights. This is a high intensity workout for toning your muscles. What women should avoid at gym is strength training and high intensity exercises.

Isolated Abdominal Exercises
A lot of you are crazy about toning up your abs. This means spending a bit too much time on toning and shaping your abs with isolated ab exercises. This could harm your body in the long run. Normally, abs are made when you have a proper diet and not with just abs exercises. You need to ensure your exercises are clubbed together with diet. Anything in isolation can harm that particular body part, and you don’t really intend on doing that, do you? Most common gym mistakes to avoid would include abs only exercises and specific workout sessions.

A lot of it
Nothing in excess serves the purpose. You should always remember that. If you spend three hours in gym, your body will burn calories that is possible on a particular day. It is not that excess training is going to reduce all the calories in a day. In fact, that way you are causing unnecessary stress and strain on your body. That way you are also lowering your productivity which is definitely not a good sign. So, don’t gym in excess.
