Following are healthy party snacks:
- Raw vegetables are always in demand at parties. Asparagus, carrot, broccoli, green beans, sprouts and other green vegetables are nice to munch. Use non-stick cookware to cook food in minimum oil.
- Avoid creamy dressings or dips and use low-fat or fat-free yogurt rather than sour cream or mayonnaise. If you don't want yogurt than hummus (blended chickpeas) are appropriate low-fat healthy party snacks. Even fresh salsa is loaded with nutrients and is low calorie food.
- Replace potato chips with fruit salad. Baby-corn masala is an excellent healthy party snack. Don't waste healthy dishes in sugar and fat. Baked sweet potatoes slices with cinnamon are great snacks.
- Parties have drinks so offer healthy party snacks like nuts which are good for the body. Roasted almonds, hazelnuts and pistachios are great nuts which are rich source of energy and nutrients.
- Fruit juices are great! Replace cocktails and mocktails with fruit and vegetable juices.
- Opt for easy homemade puddings in desserts which doesn't require whipped cream layer on the top.
- Reduce alcohol consumption. Prefer red wine over beer, vodka or whiskey. Drinking alcohol will lower the inhibitions and make you eat poor food. Enjoy your drink but with a glass of mineral water or a diet soda.
So, have these healthy party snacks and ensure more guests arrival next time to serve more tasty healthy snacks!
