Shehnaaz Gill Hospitalised: Low Blood Pressure Can Trigger Fainting, Know The Warning Signs Early
Bollywood and television fans were left concerned after Shehnaaz Gill was recently hospitalised following a sudden health scare. While the exact cause is yet to be officially confirmed, early reports and social media updates from fellow actor and Bigg Boss 18 winner Karan Veer Mehra suggest that Shehnaaz is undergoing treatment for low blood pressure.
In a now-viral video shared from the hospital, Shehnaaz is seen with an IV drip in her hand, lying on a bed with her usual charm intact. "Yeh dekho bechari... what has happened to her?" Karan joked gently, while Shehnaaz, visibly weak but smiling, responded, "Hasa rha hai mujhe." She even quipped that she plans to recover soon and throw a party once she's back on her feet.

While fans pray for her speedy recovery, Shehnaaz's condition has brought attention to an often-ignored issue: low blood pressure (hypotension). Unlike high blood pressure, which is more frequently discussed, low BP can be equally dangerous-especially when ignored. From fainting spells to chronic fatigue, here are some key symptoms to look out for before it gets serious.

1. Frequent Dizziness, Especially After Standing Up
One of the earliest and most telling signs of low blood pressure is feeling dizzy or lightheaded-especially when you suddenly get up from a seated or lying position. This is caused by a temporary drop in blood flow to your brain. For people like Shehnaaz, who likely have long shooting hours and irregular schedules, these dips can be quite frequent and dangerous.
2. Extreme Fatigue Or Unexplained Tiredness
If you're constantly feeling tired, drained, or low on energy even after a full night's sleep, it may not be laziness-it could be low blood pressure. When your BP drops below the normal threshold, your body doesn't get enough oxygen-rich blood, leading to persistent fatigue. It's one of the most misunderstood symptoms because people often blame it on lifestyle rather than an underlying condition.
3. Cold, Clammy, Or Pale Skin
Low blood pressure often affects circulation, especially to the extremities. If your skin feels unusually cold or clammy, or if your hands and feet are always pale and numb, it could be a warning sign. This happens because the body starts conserving blood for vital organs, reducing flow to the skin. In severe cases, this could be a precursor to shock-a medical emergency.
4. Blurred Vision And Brain Fog
Reduced blood flow can also affect your vision and cognitive clarity. Many people with low BP report episodes of blurred vision, tunnel vision, or blackouts-especially during physical exertion. Others describe feeling mentally "foggy," like their thoughts are slow or disconnected. These symptoms should never be ignored, especially if they occur repeatedly or alongside other issues.
5. Sudden Fainting Or Blackouts
This is the most serious and dramatic symptom-and quite possibly what triggered concern in Shehnaaz's case. When blood pressure drops drastically, the brain temporarily loses oxygen, causing a person to faint. These episodes can be extremely dangerous, particularly if they happen while walking, climbing stairs, or driving. Repeated fainting spells are a clear sign to seek immediate medical attention.
Shehnaaz Gill's health scare is a reminder that low blood pressure is not just "being weak" or "skipping meals." It's a medical condition that, if left unchecked, can cause real harm. While it's reassuring to see her smiling through recovery, it's also a wake-up call for her fans and Gen Z followers to stop romanticising tiredness and dizziness as part of the hustle.
If you or someone you know experiences these symptoms frequently, don't brush them off. Consult a doctor, monitor your blood pressure, and take preventive steps-like staying hydrated, eating balanced meals, and avoiding sudden postural changes. After all, even the brightest stars need a moment to rest and heal.
