So, typically, a balanced diet includes proteins, vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrates, water and fibre.
Different nutrients are involved in aiding different functions of the human body.
For example, carbohydrates act as a fuel which energise the body, while proteins aid in building the muscles and tissues.
Fibre is also one of the most important nutrients that needs to be consumed on a regular basis, as it performs functions like eliminating the waste from your system, energising your body and also detoxifying your system.
Unlike many other sources of nutrients that can be taken in the form of supplement pills, fibre usually needs to be ingested solely through food.
So, here are some of the easiest tips to add fibre to your diet.

Tip #1
Make it a point to eat cereal or muesli everyday for breakfast, as these foods are extremely rich in fibre content, not to mention the other nutrients in it!

Tip #2
Ensure that you consume a lot of raw fruit and vegetables every day, as fruit and vegetables are one of the most important natural sources of fibre, plus they can be easily obtained!

Tip #3
Once a week, prepare a yoghurt recipe for breakfast, by combining 3 tablespoons of yoghurt, 1 tablespoon of flaxseed, 3 tablespoons of oats, topped with a fruit of your choice! This recipe is extremely rich in fibre content.

Tip #4
Make a salad of carrots and broccoli and consume this salad, every day, before lunch! This salad too is high in fibre content.

Tip #5
You can carry a box of mixed nuts and dried fruit with you, even to work and consume them during snack time, as nuts and dried fruit are also rich in fibre.

Tip #6
You can also add kidney beans (rajma) and chickpeas (channa), to your diet, as often as possible, as they are not only rich in protein, but also fibre content.

Tip #7
Switch from white foods (bread, rice, etc.) to brown versions of the foods, as the brown foods contain whole grains, which are rich in fibre.
