And it provides certain health benefits too. Here are some facts that explain why chicken skin need not be hated so much.

When it comes to fat, an ounce of skin comes with 8 grams of unsaturated fat and 3 grams of saturated fat.

What kind of fat is present in the skin? It is predominantly mono-unsaturated fat (oleic acid). Moderate levels of mono-unsaturated fat can bring down cholesterol levels. So, it can minimise the risk of stroke and heart attack. It also regulates hormones.

Are you worrying about calories? Well, the calorie difference between skinless chicken and chicken with skin is not so big. It just contains a few more extra calories.
