1. Chia seeds also called salvia hispanica belongs to the mint family. It not only provides nutrition but also takes care of weight gain. The seeds play a part in the aztec civilisation, which is why they are used in the raw food diet. Apart from the omega acids, they contain α-linolenic acids.
2. The Omega-3 fatty acids in chia seeds help in the body metabolism particularly in the brain. It reduces the risk of heart attack, artritis and cancer. The three problems being highly seen in the obese category.
