Around 59% of Indian employees report symptoms associated with burnout, with workplace stress playing a significant role in shaping overall well-being," explained Bothra.

This awareness is encouraging companies to broaden their approach to employee care beyond occasional engagement initiatives. Greater attention is being placed on structured practices that help regulate stress responses at a physiological level. "Yoga, grounded in breath awareness, deliberate movement and focused attention, supports nervous system balance and mental clarity. Over time, such practices contribute to sharper concentration, more measured decision making and steadier collaboration during demanding work cycles," added Bothra.

"Modern work often involves prolonged sitting, continuous screen exposure and sustained cognitive demand. Over time, these patterns can affect posture, breathing depth and energy levels. Structured yoga sessions offer a practical way to counterbalance these effects," warned Bothra. Guided movement improves alignment and circulation, while breath regulation increases oxygen flow and steadies the mind. With consistent practice, attention span strengthens and emotional responses become more measured.

These capacities support clear thinking and effective collaboration in knowledge-driven roles. Embedding yoga within workplace routines reflects an understanding that performance is strongest when physical vitality and mental clarity are actively maintained.

"Yoga is most impactful when it aligns naturally with the rhythm of the workday. Short breathing practices before meetings can help teams begin discussions with greater focus. Brief guided stretches ease physical stiffness and restore circulation during long hours at desks," advised Bothra.

Digital modules allow individuals to practise at convenient times, whether working on site or remotely. When introduced consistently, these practices become part of the organisational fabric rather than a separate initiative.

Public health advocacy has further strengthened confidence in yoga as a preventive discipline. National campaigns led by the Ministry of Ayush continue to highlight its measurable mental and physical benefits, reinforcing its relevance across institutional settings. Such recognition supports wider adoption within professional environments.
