Cancer is a disease that has been referred to as the emperor of maladies. This is because even after extensive research and advancement, cancer is still a fatal disease; it is not completely curable. No wonder people fear cancer much more than they fear any other disease. So if you were told that some signs say that you may get cancer, then you would obviously be scared.
But there is always a second perspective to look at the signs that you may get cancer. If you knew what are your chances of getting cancer, then you can be medically and mentally prepared to battle it.

If you work with instruments that emit radiation, then you are at high risk of developing cancer. For example, a radiologist who works with an x-ray machine throughout the day.

If you work in a factory that deals with metals or live around such a place, then you will be prone to developing cancer. There have been precedences of people living around asbestos factories developing cancer at later stages of life.
Meat Eating
Non-vegetarians are at higher risk of developing cancer than vegetarians. This is because animal meat is of the ingredients on which cancer cells feed.

Exposing yourself to the rays of the sun without any protection from sunscreen can also predispose you to cancer. There are chinks in the ozone layer and UV radiation levels are on a rise.
Diet
If your regular diet is high on sugar, milk and other cancer triggering foods, then you stand higher chances of getting cancer. Eating healthy is one of the best ways to prevent cancerous growths.

If you have too many surgeries and develop scar tissues because of it, then you stand the risk of getting cancer. Scar tissues grows from those parts of your body that are cut through during an operation.

If you have an early menopause, which usually happens in late 30s or early 40s, then you come under the risk of cancer. Menopause in a woman's body leads to many kinds of hormonal imbalances that can lead to cancer.
Reheated Food
A recent study indicates that food that is stale or stored in the refrigerator and then reheated several times is a leading cause of stomach cancer. The study is not conclusive but it means relying too heavily on the microwave oven is a bad idea.
