Effects Of Obesity In Women
The effects of obesity on women are much more apparent than men. The effects of obesity on men are generally medical only. However, for women obesity is a psychological problem too. Overweight women are prone to heart diseases. But that is just the tip of the iceberg. The problem of obesity runs much deeper than that.
Obesity in women leads to various menstrual problems. To start with, irregular periods is a very common complaint in adolescent girls who are overweight. With progressing age, infertility can be a final result of obesity in women. Polycystic ovaries and hormonal imbalance results in infertility among women in childbearing age.
The effects of obesity in women are also psychological. Increased fat content in the body leads to ugly stretch marks and cracked heels. This leads to depression in women. Here are some of the effects that obesity have in women.

Irregular Periods
Irregular periods can be a result of too much fat deposits around the uterus. This is very common among junk food eating adolescents.

Risk Of Heart Attack
There is a myth that women are less prone to heart diseases than men. In post-menopausal women, heart diseases are a real risk. On top of that, if you are obese you come under the high risk category.

Muscular Degeneration
Muscular degeneration and weakness happens because of too much fat deposition in the body. Obese people usually do not exercise a lot so they end up with weak muscles.

High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure happens due to cholesterol deposition in the blood vessels that is very common among obese people.

Arthritis
When the joints in the body are not able to take the pressure of the excessive body weight, then it results in chronic inflammatory diseases like arthritis.

Cracked Heel
When your body weight is too much then it puts pressure on the extremities of your body. This can lead to painfully cracked heels.

Gallstones
Stones are formed in your gall bladder due to improper fat metabolism. That is why obese women are more prone to gallstones.

Poly Cystic Ovaries
Poly cystic ovaries have been proved to be a result of unhealthy eating habits. Tiny cysts form all over the ovaries leading to irregular periods and in some cases infertility.

Infertility
Obese women are highly susceptible to hormonal imbalance. This results in infertility among women.

Stretch Marks
When your epidermis (top layer of the skin) is stretched beyond its limit, it results in ugly stretch marks. This has a psychological impact on women.

Depression
Depression in women is common due to hormonal imbalances induced by obesity. It can also happen due to the psychological effect of being fat.
