Recently, a survey by Engage Mutual Assurance, has found out that Brit women spend 25,233 Pounds, during their life time in diets. It also said that an average woman will go for a diet at least three times a year.
“Sticking to a restricted diet for any length of time is extremely difficult, which is why it is better to introduce a more realistic routine involving regular exercise and healthy eating," Tina Clare, spokeswoman for Engage, said.
The study has also revealed that these women spend 180.81 Pounds for gym, slimming clubs, fitness etc. These diet regimes last for 19 days and the main breakers are chocolates, wine, crisps etc. During this course of 19 days, these women shell out 6.06 Pounds only for health and fitness magazines, while 10.86 Pounds is spent on slimming clubs.
They also spend on gym clothes and to install special exercise equipment in home. 18.98 Pounds is spent on equipment, while 36.38 for clothing. During these diet days, their supermarket shopping bill too increases to 70.56 Pounds.
“We all succumb to temptation at one time or another, but following a balanced diet and enjoying regular exercise is a good start for those seeking a healthier lifestyle or wanting to feel happier about their weight," Clare added.
