Sun Allergy Causes And Treatments

There are majorly three types of Sun Allergies-
Polymorphous Light Eruption (PMLE)This is the most common type of Sun Allergy, which occurs during the early stages of summers. A few hours of exposure to Sun can cause this kind of allergies. This allergy basically starts as a immune system but then the constant exposure to ultraviolet rays takes the shape of rashes. This may be caused by the UVA or UVB rays.
Actinic Prurigo
Overexposure to Sun for a long period of time can cause this kind of allergy. It is caused by UV rays and appears in form of pimples. This happens when the season changes from spring to summer.
This is caused due to abnormal immunological conditions. It is a chronic disease and leaves marks, even after cure.
Photoallergic Eruption
This is caused due to a chemical reaction of sun rays on the cosmetic used on the skin. The sunscreen or the makeup brand which does not suit your skin type reacts under the Sun rays to erupt a skin rash.
Treatment Of Sun Allergies
1.Antihistamines – This is a treatment to cure the blisters caused due to Sun Allergies. Histamine is the chemical released from the allergy cells. The Histamines when released causes running nose, fever etc. Antihistamines is treatment which stops the flow of these chemicals.
2.Tropical Corticosteroid – This an agent which is available in some of the creams. These help in healing the inflammatory responses of the skin due to Sun reaction. This is not a cure but it prevents the allergy from aggravating.
3.Prednisone - This is a sub category of Corticosteroid. This controls the abnormal immunological conditions. Thus, it suppresses the allergic eruptions.
Home Remedies Of Sun Allergies
1.Milk – Milk is a cure to any kind of skin problem. It soothes the itching and the rash. Apply milk every time you come from sun and after applying it for three times, wash your face with cold water.
2.Coconut Milk And Yogurt – Blend Coconut milk and yogurt and drink it immediately. This agent helps in improving the skin condition.
3.St. John's Wort – Mix one part of St. John's Wort herbal liquid to nine part of water. Apply this pack several times. It makes your skin less sensitive.
4.Cucumber – Mash the cucumber into a paste and apply it on the rashes. It soothes the burning feeling and also stops the rashes from spreading.
Sun allergies are typical to certain skin type. The exact reason of why it happens to few and not others is yet to be answered by science but Sun allergy also spreads hereditary.
