Tips To Quit Sugar
Once you have decided to quit sugar, you should take certain steps to stay away from it once for all. We all know the fact that excessive consumption of sugar is associated with many health risks. Without going into all of them, let us discuss about certain tips that might help you in your attempt to quit sugar.
Firstly, know the fact that its an addiction. Yes, like any other drug addiction, even consuming sugar obsessively is an addiction. Accept the fact that you are addicted and stay determined to clean your system once for all. When your system tries to get used to sugar deprivation, cravings might surface too frequently. It takes determination to beat the situation. First, consult your doctor whether it is ideal for you to take the challenge of quitting sugar in all forms. Only then, proceed further. This is because your overall health must co-operate with your decisions.

Out Of sight; Out Of Mind
The first thing you must do if you wish to quit sugar is to get it out of sight. As long as you have certain things within your reach, it would be very difficult to quit. So, sugar in all forms should be removed form your shelves.

Research
When you are trying to quit sugar, you must know about the facts. Read about all the health issues caused by excessive sugar intake. Read a lot on that topic so that your mind will remember the reasons why you took the decision of quitting sugar.

Be Patient
Digest the fact that the first two weeks will be hard to pass. Your carvings will make you go crazy and that is the period when your determination should be in place.

Packaged Products
Certain packaged products do contain sugar. For example, packaged oatmeal contains sugar. So, it is better to try for the sugar free products if possible.

Parties
Before you go out to eat in a hotel or at a friend's party, it is good to remind yourself and the host that you have quit sugar. This will help you stay away from foods that you don't want.

Eat Nutritious Food
Never stay hungry especially when you are depriving yourself of your favourite food stuffs. When you keep yourself hungry for long, your body will not be able to control the cravings.

Seek Support
Ask your family members to offer support. When they are aware of your resolutions, they will not eat chocolates or other stuff in front of you. When you can eliminate temptations from your sight, things work better.

Congratulate Yourself
After you pass a week or two without consuming sugar, reward yourself with something like a pair of clothes, or a watch or sports shoes for quitting sugar so that you will feel motivated to do more.

Drink Enough Water
When your cravings make you go mad, one idea to control them is by drinking a glass of water. This will refresh your body and also helps detox.
