There have been 11 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths to 5,30,965. According to the data updated at 8 a.m., three deaths were reported in Gujarat, two in Himachal Pradesh, one in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh, and one in Kerala [1].

Currently, there are 4.47 crore cases (4,47,56,616) of Covid infections, and the recovery rate was 98.74 per cent for COVID-19. The health minister emphasized the importance of being alert to a possible fourth wave of the covid pandemic.
With COVID-19 cases rising, it is important to take steps to protect your health and keep your lungs healthy [2].
COVID-19: How To Keep Your Lungs Healthy?
Here are some tips to keep your lungs healthy amid rising Covid-19 cases [3]:
1. Quit smoking: If you're a smoker, the best thing you can do for your lungs is to quit. Smoking can irritate your lungs and weaken their natural defences, making you more susceptible to respiratory illnesses, including Covid-19.
2. Exercise regularly: Regular exercise can help strengthen your lungs and keep them healthy. Aim for 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity five times a week.
3. Eat a healthy diet: Eating a balanced diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can help your lungs stay healthy. Avoid processed foods and foods high in sugar and fat.

5. Avoid air pollution: Air pollution can be damaging to your lungs. Try to avoid exercising outdoors when the air quality is poor, and make sure to keep your home and car windows closed. Wear a face mask when outside. Consider using an air purifier to filter the air inside your home. Take public transportation or carpool to reduce emissions.
6. Clean and disinfect frequently: Clean and disinfect surfaces in your home regularly to reduce the risk of Covid infection. Poor air quality can exacerbate many respiratory disorders, so it is important to limit your exposure. Additionally, the novel coronavirus is spread through contact with surfaces, so regularly disinfecting surfaces can help to reduce the risk of infection [5].
7. Get vaccinated: Get the Covid-19 vaccine when it becomes available to help protect yourself and your lungs.

On A Final Note...
By following these tips, you can help keep your lungs healthy and reduce your risk of contracting Covid-19. Take care of yourself and stay safe.
