Bringing Back The 60s -- Hemant And Nandita At AIFWSS'16
Hemant and Nandita began their fashion journey like any other fashion lover-- at NIIFT. Hemant assisted designer Aparna Jagdhari and Nandita worked with Malini Ramani. Three-year long design course paid well and they eventually started a big banner. In the year 2003, they launched a designer label together called Hemant & Nandita.
These NIIFT-graduates finally acclaimed recognition when they made their collection debut at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in 2009. Their style is a classic blend of indo-western; the beautiful balance of Indian tradition with contemporary styles is opulent.
They have clothed Bollywood celebrities like Minissha Lamba, Amisha Patel, Raveena Tandon, Raima Sen, Sonal Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, Mandira Bedi, Parizaad Kolah, Mini Mathur and Mona Singh. Having such biggies on their designer list, they've surely aced their name in the fashion world.
So this time with Amazon India Fashion Week Spring Summer, they've revived the 60s era. Known for their classic Indo-western blend, this very time they chose to drift from their niche and try hands at something new.
The designs are highly inspired by the streets of New Yor: The Pop Culture, shapes, patterns, and motifs. The delicate use of shirts and lace indicate the fashion dominance in the 60s culture. You can also get a hint of vibrant youth couture used artistically neat. Going old school has never been better and they've proved it. The classy feel of motifs and the colors sure justifies their take on 60s fashion. Having said enough; let's move on to their collection:
We really appreciate the use of lively orange -- the ultimate summer color. Also, the floral designs and peter pan collar combination is something very unique. Notice the apt use of gladiators on the chic dress.

This particular ensemble is a lot for someone simple. But, the use of high waist skirt and jacket is indeed commendable. Again, the gladiators are scintillating.

The use of summer colors is very artistically done. The shoulder cut-outs and outlined hem is a smart choice. Also, let's not forget the skirt.

Two words: very retro. And hence their goal of bringing back the 60s was well met. The lenon glasses and briefcase bag delights the entire ensemble.

This is a very chic and stylish look. Mostly, romanticizing the Romeo-Juliet era. Just look at that gorgeous neckline.

Sunny-side-up: What else do you need for a summer collection? Or, rather what do you need for your summer closet? A summer dress and they have redefined the old school summer short dress.
