The ₹23K Mes Demoiselles Dress Deepika Padukone Wore on the King Sets Is Everything
She wasn't supposed to be seen.
Director Siddharth Anand took to social media, urging fans not to circulate leaked visuals from the sets of King. They did anyway. And within hours, Deepika Padukone's Cape Town shoot look had taken over every corner of the internet, not just for the chemistry on display or the visible baby bump, but for the dress itself.
A flowing, floral-print Mes Demoiselles gown, priced at approximately ₹23,000. Understated for a global star. Absolutely unforgettable in practice.
The Look That Got Everyone Talking
In the leaked set photos, Deepika is seen embracing her pregnancy glow while dressed in a flowing kaftan-style outfit, her hair left open in soft curls, appearing relaxed and happy during the shoot. The Paris-based Mes Demoiselles label, known for its bohemian silhouettes and delicate prints, was a quietly brilliant choice. Breezy, pregnancy-friendly, and effortlessly chic all at once.
Shah Rukh Khan, standing beside her, looked stylish in a black-and-white striped mesh shirt paired with navy blue trousers. The two stars were seen holding hands at the location, and their chemistry instantly became the biggest talking point online.
Shooting Through a Second Pregnancy
The images landed days after a personal announcement. Deepika Padukone had just revealed her second pregnancy with husband Ranveer Singh - and despite the news, she has continued shooting, proving once again why she remains one of Bollywood's biggest stars. She and Ranveer welcomed their first child, daughter Dua, in September 2024.
An insider confirmed that Deepika intends to continue filming King and Raaka throughout her pregnancy, with the production team implementing all necessary safety measures.
About King
King marks Deepika's sixth collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, the film reunites the Pathaan duo and also marks Suhana Khan's theatrical debut alongside her father. It is scheduled to release on December 24, 2026.
The Bottomline
Deepika Padukone did not dress for the cameras that day in Cape Town. She dressed for the day. The ₹23,000 Mes Demoiselles gown - accessible, unfussy, and radiantly worn - became the most-talked-about outfit in Bollywood this week simply because of the woman in it. That, in itself, is the story.
