Ingredients:
1 Cup Hesarubele/Split Green Gram
1 Cup Ridge gourd or Raw Banana pieces
1tsp Peppercorns
2tbsp Urad Dal/Split Black Gram
1tbsp Curry Leaves
' Cup Coconut, grated
Salt to taste
For the Seasoning :
2tsp Oil
1tsp Mustard Seeds
A pinch of Hing/Asafoetida
1tsp Turmeric Powder
Method:
Grind Urad Dal, Curry leaves, Coconut and Peppercorns to a paste. Boil Green Gram along with the vegetable. Add the Masala paste and Salt. Bring it to a boil.
Heat Oil, add Mustard Seeds when they splutter add Hing and Turmeric Powder.
Remove the dal to a serving dish and add the seasoning and mix well. Serve hot with plain Rice or Phulka.
