Paneer Chana Masala Recipe
Paneer chana masala is a spicy and delicious vegetarian delight from North India. It is a simple recipe which you can try out without going through much hassle. Paneer chana masala is a perfect recipe for vegetarians which combines the two most loved items- chickpeas and paneer together to prepare an absolute dely lip-smacking delight.
For preparing paneer chana masala you just have to keep some regular kitchen ingredients ready and it goes very well with rotis and parathas. So, just prepare this delightful dish and give your taste buds a spicy and delicious treat.

Here goes the recipe for paneer chana masala:
Serves: 3-4
Preparation time: 5 hours
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Chickpeas- 1 cup
- Paneer- 250gms
- Onions- 2 (finely chopped)
- Ginger-garlic paste- 1tbsp
- Tomatoes- 2 (finely chopped)
- Coriander powder- 1tsp
- Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
- Cumin powder- 1tsp
- Pepper powder- 1tsp
- Garam masala- ½ tsp
- Red chilli powder- 1tsp
- Dry mango powder- 1tsp
- Cumin seeds- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Oil- 2tbsp
- Water- 1 cup
- Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (chopped)
Procedure
1. Soak the chickpeas in about three cups of water for 5 hours
2. After 5 hours, drain the water from the chickpeas and boil it in a pressure cooker with a cup of water and salt on medium flame and wait for 3-4 whistles
3. Once done, switch off the flame and allow the chickpeas to cool down
4. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once it starts to splutter, add onions
5. Fry the onions for about 5-6 minutes on medium flame
6. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for about 2-3 minutes
7. Add tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, dry mango powder, pepper powder and cook for about 5-6 minutes
8. Now add the boiled chickpeas and mix well
9. Add the paneer cubes, garam masala and stir carefully
10. Cook for another 5 minutes on low flame
11. Once done switch off the flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves
Serve paneer chana masala with parathas or jeera rice.
