The zest is very healthy as the bitterness in the peel is said to kill germs in the stomach and is even good for digestion. Take a look at how to go about with the “Orange Zest Chutney Recipe".
Orange Zest Chutney Recipe - South Indian Side Dish
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup orange zest
- 2-3 tsps gram dal
- 1 tsp tamarind juice
- 1 tsp jaggery
- 1/2 cup grated, coconut
- 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
- 5-6 curry leaves
- Pinch of asafoetida
- 2 tsps groundnut oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
Orange Zest Chutney Preparation:
- Heat the oil in a pan and fry gram dal, fenugreek seeds, coconut, orange zest (separately) until lightly brown.
- Add tamarind juice, jaggery, to the mixture and grind it into paste.
- Garnish with fried mustard seeds, curry leaves and pinch of asafoetida. Tasty orange zest chutney is ready.
Enjoy the tangy orange zest chutney recipe with hot rotis or even with plain rice.
