Onion Chutney Recipe – Tangy And Spicy
If you are bored eating dosas and idlis with green chutney or tomato chutney, then try our special chutney recipe of the day "Onion Chutney Recipe". Onions are rich in carbohydrates, sugar and potassium and is said to prevent osteoporosis, helps to fight some of the side effects of high blood sugar and heart disease. Onions are richest food sources of chromium which improves the body's ability to respond to insulin. Take a look at how to prepare the tasty and healthy onion chutney recipe (Vengaya chutney).
Onion Chutney Recipe -
Ingredients :
1. 2 Onions (finely chopped)
2. 2-3 Green chillies
3. 2 Red Chillies(dry)
4. 1 tsp mustard seeds
5. 2 tsp urad dal
6. 1 tsp tamarind juice
7. Salt to taste
8. 1/2 tsp sugar
9. 1 tsp oil
Method :
1. In a pan, heat the oil & fry a tsp of urad, green chillies for a minute and add chopped onions with salt. Fry until the raw smell of onions are gone. Set aside to cool.
2. Then add the tamarind juice, sugar to the onion mixture & grind it to a fine paste.
3. Season with the fried mustard seeds and red chillies in a teaspoon of oil. Tasty onion chutney ready to serve.
