Oats Bisibelebath Recipe For Breakfast
One of the best treats you can start your morning with is a nice big bowl of hot bisibelebath. You might have heard of this lovely lentil dish that is very famous in South India, mainly Karnataka. Bisibelebath is a one of a kind recipe and most loved by all since it consists of a lot of spices and yummy vegetables too. What is interesting about this breakfast recipe is that we are not making the dish out of rice, however, we are going to substitute it with oats!
The mix of the ingredients will be the same when compared to the original bisibelebath when made out of soft rice. The classic rice breakfast recipe is a wholesome one as it will provide to you all nutrients possible in just one meal. Rich dal filled with protein, mixed vegetables and not to forget warming spices.

Procedure
- To start the oats bisibelebath, first you need to pressure cook the vegetables in the cooker for 10 minutes.
- Pressure cook the dal as well after the vegetables is done.
- Now prepare the bisibelebath powder with all the ingredients which is mentioned under the list. First you need to roast all the ingredients listed in the list in a teaspoon of ghee for 3-4 minutes. When it is done, remove and place it on a place to let it cool.
- Now in a separate bowl, roast the oats for about 2 to 3 minutes on a low flame. After you roast the oats, leave it aside to cool.
- Now blend the cooled spice ingredients to the oats and keep it a side.
- Take a heavy bottomed vessel and heat a tablespoon of oil in it. To the hot oil, add in the mustard seeds and allow it to splutter. Add in the curry leaves and fry it well with the hot oil.
- To the mixture ass in the chopped onions and sauté the ingredients for about 5 minutes.
- Now add in the turmeric, tomatoes and other vegetables too. Saute all the ingredients together.
- Add in desired water to see that the mixture is cooking well on the medium flame.
- Add in the jagerry to the mixture and mix well for another 2 minutes.
- Now when the mixture is a little bit cooked add in the dal and mix well. Also add in the tamarind extract along with a cup of water and cook for 6 minutes approximately.
- To this mixture, add in 1 tbsp of bisibelebath powder and salt. Give the ingredients a nice mix together and let it boil.
- Break any lumps which are forming while you stir. You need to add a cup of water in order for it to cook well.
- Let it cook for about 10 minutes on a low medium flame and then switch it off when ready.
Your oats bisibelebath is now ready to eat. You can enjoy the recipe with a hot cup of coffee. A great start for a fine Thursday morning.
