Green Peas Paratha: Easy Breakfast Recipe
The taste of fresh green peas is simply mouthwatering. Including green peas in your breakfast is an excellent idea. Green peas are one of the most nutritious leguminous vegetable. It is a rich source of vitamin A, K and definitely low in calories. So, here is a healthy and tasty recipe for green peas paratha.
This paratha is quite easy to prepare and makes a filling breakfast. The fresh or frozen green peas are ground with the aromatic spices, chillies, and ginger, and then stuffed inside a chapati. Green peas paratha is also a great option for your kid's lunch box.
So, prepare this delicious and nutritious breakfast recipe and enjoy your day!
Serves: 3-4
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- Green peas- 1 cup
- Whole wheat flour- 1 cup
- Green chillies- 2
- Ginger- 2tsp (grated)
- Cumin seeds- 1tsp
- Hing (asafoetida)- a pinch
- Dry mango powder- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Oil- 3tbsp
- Water- ½ cup
Procedure
- Wash the peas properly. Grind the peas along with chillies, ginger, cumin seeds and salt coarsely. Make sure you do not add water.
- Heat one teaspoon of oil in a pan and add hing to it. Then add this green peas mixture and saute for about 5 minutes on medium flame.
- Add dry mango powder, fry for a minute and then turn off the flame.
- Let the mixture cool down completely.
- Now knead the wheat flour with water and salt into a semi soft dough.
- Make 4 balls out of the dough.
- Flatten out each ball and put in the green peas stuffing in the middle, gather all sides and seal the ball completely with your fingers.
- Carefully roll out the stuffed balls into chapatis.
- Heat a tawa and fry these stuffed parathas one by one.
Green peas paratha is ready to be served. Enjoy peas paratha with the curry of your choice or pickle.
