Diwali Sweet Recipe – Date Rolls
Sugar Free Date Rolls, our special Diwali sweet recipe-
Black Dates are naturally sweet and full of nutrients. Date rolls use only the sweetness of dates and are any day a better option compared to the regular sugar sweets.
Ingredients
1/2 tsp ghee
3/4 cup finely chopped black dates (kala khajur)
1 tbsp chopped almonds (badam)
1 tbsp chopped pistachio nuts
1 tbsp chopped walnuts (akhrot)
2 tbsp poppy seeds (khus-khus) for coating
Method
1. Heat the ghee in a small non-stick pan, add the dates and cook on a slow flame, while stirring continuously for 5 to 7 minutes or till they turn into a soft lump.
2. Remove from the flame, add the almonds, pistachios and walnuts and mix well.
3. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each portion into a roll.
4. Coat each roll evenly with poppy seeds and refrigerate to set. Yummy sugar free date rolls are ready and can be served chilled.
5.Now, garnish the sugar free date rolls with silver warak. And now, your special Diwali sweet recipe is ready.
