Ugadi Pachadi Recipe That You Need To Try
Ugadi marks the dawn of the Spring season and the freshness of this beautiful season is celebrated with great fervour. It also marks the starting of the mango season. The unripe mangoes are available in huge quantities during this time. Also so many other varieties of flowers and fruits are available during this time.
But the most unique part of Ugadi is beginning the new year with a savouring and a mixed flavoured chutney known as the Ugadi pachadi. This pachadi is a mix of six flavours which is a symbolic reminder of the various facets of our lives. This special pachadi is made with unripe mangoes, neem flowers, jaggery, tamarind and other ingredients. It tickles your taste-buds with different tastes and is also an extremely healthy dish. The presence of neem flowers help to cleanse your system and prevent all kinds of illnesses.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- Unripe mango- 1 cup (chopped with skin)
- Neem tree flowers- 1tbsp
- Jaggery- 1 cup (grated)
- Coconut pieces- 1tbsp
- Tamarind paste- 4tbsp
- Red chilli powder- a pinch
- Salt- as per taste
- Water- 3 cups
Procedure
1. Heat the water in a pan and tamarind paste to it.
2. Then add the mango pieces to it and cook till it becomes tender.
3. Now add the jaggery, red chilli powder, salt, neem flowers, coconut pieces and bring the mixture to boil.
4. Cook on medium flame for 8-10 minutes.
5. Once done, switch off the flame and serve.
Special Ugadi pachadi is ready to be served. Serve in small quantities as an accompaniment with maincourse food.
