Spicy Mushroom Manchurian: Starters Recipe
Mushroom manchurian is a delicious blend of Indian and Chinese cuisine. Manchurian is a popular variety in the Chinese cuisine. However, many countries have modified this version of Chinese cuisine in their own way. Paneer, mushroom, chicken and gobi manchurian are few popular starters that are popular in India. These starters are a blend of Indian and Chinese cuisines.
There are many mushroom recipes that are easy to prepare and delicious too. Mushroom manchurian is also an easy to prepare starters (with gravy) that can also be served as an evening snack (dry). Check out the spicy recipe to prepare mushroom manchurian.

Mushroom manchurian recipe:
Serves: 3
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Fresh white button mushrooms- 250gms
- Ginger and garlic paste- 1tsp
- Corn flour- 4-5tbsp
- Maida- 2tbsp
- Soy sauce- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Water- 2 cups
- Oil- for frying
For sauting
- Garlic paste- 1tsp
- Ginger- 2 inch
- Green chilli- 2 (sliced)
- Onion- 1 (sliced)
- Spring onions- 2tbsp (chopped)
- Soy sauce- 1tsp
- Chilli sauce- 1tsp
- Tomato ketchup- 1½ tbsp
- Salt- as per taste
Procedure
- Wash and clean the mushroom pieces. Dry with a towel and cut into medium sized pieces.
- In a bowl, mix cornflour, maida, ginger and garlic paste. Add soy sauce, salt and water. Mix all the ingredients well till a medium thick batter is prepared. Coat the mushroom pieces in the batter.
- Now, heat oil in a frying pan. Deep fry the coated mushroom pieces till they turn golden brown and looks crisp. Do not over fry the pieces as mushroom secretes water that can splatter the oil.
- Heat 2tbsp oil in a frying pan. Add ginger, garlic paste, onions and green chillies. Saute for around 2 minutes on a high flame.
- Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, salt, spring onions and fried mushroom pieces. Mix well. Toss and cook for another 2 minutes. Put the pan off flame.
Mushroom manchurian is ready to eat. If you want, you can add red and green bell peppers to give a mix flavour.
