Ingredients:
500gms Rice
2 Banana Leaves
Salt to taste
Method:
Grind rice to a fine powder. Clean Banana leaves on both sides with a damp cloth.
Dry and pass over a live flame to make them pliable, taking care not to burn leaves.
Cut Banana leaves into 8" squares. Shift Rice powder into a bowl.
Add Salt and gradually add water and knead to a soft dough. Place about half a cup of the dough in the center of each banana leaf square and fold to make parcels.
Tie with cotton strings to make parcels. Steam for 20 mts. Serve with hot tea.
