Chilli Prawns: Easy Seafood Recipe

Chilli prawns is a deliciously spicy easy seafood recipe. This chilli prawns recipe is one the standard recipes that have become brand names in the food world. But you can try this easy seafood recipe at home too because it is incredible simple.

This one of the world famous spicy prawn recipes coming out of the East. It is strange but true that the best and the most popular recipes are always the simplest ones. It holds true when we consider this easy seafood recipe too. This Chilli prawns recipe is made with the simplest of ingredients and takes about 15 minutes to put together.

Ingredients For Chilli Prawns Recipes:

1. Prawns 10-15 (medium sized prawns)
2. Green chillies 10
3. Onions 1
4. Garlic 8 cloves (minced)
5. Bell peppers or capsicum 1 (cut into medium sized pieces)
6. Spring onion greens 8-10
7. Corn flower or besan ' cup
8. Vinegar 1 tablespoon
9. Soy sauce 2 tablespoon
10. Ground pepper1 tablespoon
11. Coriander leaves (chopped)
12. White oil 2 tablespoon
13. Salt as per taste

Procedure For Chilli Prawns:

  • Marinate the prawns in vinegar and salt for about 10 minutes while you chop the spices and vegetables.
  • Mix salt and cornflour or besan in a bowl and add finely chopped green chillies (2) to it. Mix it well for preparing the batter for frying the prawns.
  • Heat oil in a shallow pan until it is piping hot. Dip the marinated prawns in the batter and fry then crisply on both sides.
  • Strain them on a piece of tissue paper to soak the extra oil.
  • Now take another pan and heat minimum required oil in it. Saute the onions in it until they are golden brown and then add the minced garlic which is the main flavour apart from chillies in Chilli Prawns.
  • Then add the capsicum and spring onion greens after about 3-4 minutes. In the end add the 8 chillies sliced into halves and stir it well to tease the spices.
  • Push the spices to one side of the pan and pour soy sauce into the oil that remains. Let it crackle for half a minute and then mix it well.
  • Add salt and the remaining vinegar before adding the prawns. Mix the spices well with the fried prawns and cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
  • Add half a cup water; cover and cook for another 5 minutes.

Chilli prawns are supposed to be semi dry with little gravy. You can garnish it with coriander leaves.
