Microwave Recipe For Chicken Pulao

Chicken pulao is a delicious pulao we would all like to have after a busy day. The problem is that these kind of delicate dishes need a lot of effort which we don't have the time to put in. However, your problem can be solved if you use a simple Indian microwave recipe to prepare this dish. Chicken pulao is even otherwise an easy chicken and rice item to cook but if you cook it in your microwave it gives you the added advantage of of healthy eating.

This Indian microwave recipe for making chicken pulao gives you the option to carry on with your work while cooking. To make this quick chicken recipe you need not stand in front of the gas oven continuously. All you have to do is put the ingredients for this Indian microwave recipe together and set the appropriate settings on the oven. The ingredients for this pulao recipe remain same; just the procedure changes.

Ingredients for Chicken Pulao:

1. Chicken 300 grams (small sized pieces)
2. Basmati Rice 200 grams
3. Dried red chillies 4
4. Green chillies 4
5. Cumin seeds 2 teaspoons
6. Peppercorns 10
7. Cinnamon sticks 2
8. Cardamom 4
9. Star Anise 2
10. Onions 2
11. Garlic 8 cloves.
12. Ginger 2 (inch pieces)
13. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
14. Cumin powder 2 teaspoons
15. Bay leaf 1
16. Ghee 1 tablespoon
17. Salt as per taste

Procedure for Chicken Pulao:

  • Soak washed rice in water for half an hour.
  • Melt ghee in a deep bowl in the microwave. It should be done in 1 minutes on the 'micro' option.
  • Meanwhile make a paste of onions, ginger, garlic, pepper, red chillies, green chillies and cumin seeds.
  • Add the bay leaf, star anise, cinnamon sticks and cardamom to the heated ghee and 'micro' for 2 minutes.
  • After that add the chicken pieces to it and microwave it for another 2 minutes.
  • When the chicken pieces are singed add the paste and a cumin and turmeric powder.
  • Microwave it for 4 minutes before you add the soaked rice to it and mix.Microwave the mixture dry for 2 minutes.
  • Now add salt and water (double the amount of rice); cover and cook for 16-18 minutes at 640 degrees.
  • Be careful not to add too much water because straining it will kill the taste.

After your Chicken pulao is ready you can garnish it with freshly chopped coriander or curry leaves.
