World Honey Bee Day: 5 Bee-Inspired Makeup Looks To Become Buzz-Worthy Beauty
On August 17, we celebrate World Honey Bee Day, an ideal opportunity to get inspired by these amazing insects. Honey bees inspire imaginative makeup looks thanks to their vibrant colours and detailed patterns.

To help you celebrate this day in style, here are five beauty ideas inspired by honey bees.

Gold Honey Glow
Grab the essence of honey by applying a golden, radiant cosmetics look. To achieve a dazzling finish on your skin, start with a dewy foundation. To create a gentle, honeyed gradient on the eyelids, use warm golden and amber eyeshadows. To emulate the natural sheen of honey, apply a dazzling gold highlighter on your nose bridge, brow bones, and cheekbones.
Apply a sheer lip gloss with a touch of gold glitter to finish. For those who like to capture the cosy, sweet aroma of honey bees without going overboard, simply replicate this look!
Bee Wings Liner
Consider emulating a bee's delicate wings for a dramatic winged eyeliner effect. Start with a traditional cat-eye design and then expand the wing beyond its normal length to create a striking, graphic shape that resembles bee wings. Draw a second line, mirroring the shape of a bee's wing, along the crease of your eyelid for a more detailed pattern.
Use a gentle peach blush and a delicate nude or pale yellow eyeshadow to balance this bold eyeliner. Use matte nude lipstick to keep the lips subtle and allow the eyes to outshine!

Honeycomb Eyeshadow
A beautiful eyeshadow design can be created using the honeycomb, one of the most recognizable images of bees. First, apply a base eyeshadow that is neutral in colour. Create a honeycomb pattern on the eyelid by sketching hexagonal shapes with a fine brush and honey-yellow or golden eyeshadow.
To create more depth, use a little darker tone on the hexagons' edges. With only a hint of mascara and a delicate pink or sheer lip colour, you can make the honeycomb eyes the main attraction of your bee-inspired look!
Black and Yellow Lips
Try a striking lip colour combination of black and yellow to channel the bee's unique hues. This bold makeup idea is guaranteed to draw attention. First, line your lips in the middle with eyeliner or yellow lip colour.
Next, use a black lip pencil or black lipstick to carefully outline the remaining portion of your lips. Lightly blend the edges of the colours to create a gradient effect. Using a little brush, draw a little bee design on one corner of your lips for some extra flair.
Bee Freckles
Inspired by bee pollen, add a whimsical touch to your makeup with freckles. Use a tiny brush to create the appearance of pollen on your cheekbones and nose by dabbing yellow and golden flecks thereafter applying your regular foundation and blush.
This look can be achieved by mixing yellow eyeshadow with a setting spray. To maintain the consistency of the look, pair this with subtle, golden eyeshadow and a glossy lip.
These honey bee-inspired makeup ideas are a great way to honour World Honey Bee Day, whether you like bright or delicate looks. So gather your beauty supplies and unleash your creativity!
