Bong Beauty! Vidya In Bengali Style Saree
Vidya Balan has always had a very special connection with Kolkata. She did many Bengali films and was part of the Bengali film industry before coming to Bollywood. In fact, many people still think that she is a Bengali by birth. She was in the City of Joy yesterday for the opening of a jewellery store. Vidya Balan was spotted in saree from Vaishali S draped in the Bengali style.
We have seen Vidya Balan in Bengali style sarees before. She draped her saree in the Bong style during her mehendi and sangeet ceremony. Her favourite designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is also a Bengali. But on this occasion, Vidya Balan was in a saree designed by Vaishali S. This red coloured drape is basically a typical zamdani. But it did not have any golden thread work.

The thread-work in the red saree was mainly yellow, so Vidya paired up the saree with a yellow coloured blouse. The saree was draped in the typical Bengali style without pleats. And as Vidya Balan was in Kolkata for the launch of jewellery store, she wore tons of gold jewellery. The jewellery designs were very quintessentially Bengali. Vidya wore heavy coin necklace with 'dheri' jhumkas and 'chur' or thick golden bracelets in her hands.

The crowing glory of this look was the large red bindi that Vidya was wearing on her forehead. It gave her a very authentic Bong beauty glamour. Vidya Balan looked great in this saree. We have one problem with this ensemble. We cannot fathom why she had to let her hair run wild instead of going for a decent hairstyle. She could have gone of a simple low bun to complete this Bengali look.
