Saree Inspired Dresses Setting The Trend
Fashion trends come and go with season. They represent out immense need to innovate. There can be no fashion trend without improvisation and inspiration. So the latest trend of saree inspired dresses is a continuation of the creative process. A saree inspired dress is basically an outfit that imitates the look and feel of a saree.
The most important feature of a saree inspired dress would be its drape. As we all know, sarees are draped and that is the basic aesthetic of this garment. But a dress is usually worn and not draped. Fashion designers are now trying to re-create the draping element of saree in a dress. Last season, we saw a lot saree-style gowns. However, a saree inspired dress doesn't necessarily have to be a gown. Even an ensemble of a two pieces with drape can be called a dress.
We saw a lot of saree inspired dresses on the ramp of Lakme Fashion Week 2013. Some of the best ones came from Masaba Gupta's collection. Her take on this fashion trend seems to be fresh and interesting.
So to help you keep up with the best in fashion, here are some saree inspired dresses that you must check out.
